Why does code runtime vary across runs?
Why does code runtime vary across runs?

Either shared resources or encoded randomness, probably.

Code Ocean runs your code in a shared environment with other projects.

In order to provide every capsule with identical resources on average and across runs, we do our best to dynamically adjust the capacity of our cloud . Sometimes, the platform may see a high demand, in which case, runtime could go up.

There could also be stochastic elements of the code that cause this.
